'Lem's Robot' Mural

ul. Józefińska 24 ,   Podgórze         more than a year ago
Located at the corner of ul. Józefińska and ul. Krakusa in Podgórze, this mural is dedicated to native Cracovian and famous science fiction writer Stanisław Lem - most well-known internationally for his novel, Solaris. Created by Filip Kużniarz in November 2012 as part of the Conrad Festival of literature, the inscription anticipates the eventual domination of machines over mankind:

"Na koniec ludzie skarleją do wymiaru bezmózgich sług żelaznych geniuszy i, być może, poczną oddawać im cześć boską…"

Loose IYP translation:
"In the end, people will be reduced to mindless servants of the iron geniuses and, perhaps, they shall worship them as divine..."
