Megiddo Cafe & Bakery

ul. Kupa 14 (Izaak Synagogue) ,   Kazimierz         30 Mar 2026
Although the Izaak Synagogue remains under renovation, this small kosher bakery and specialty coffeeshop - occuping an adjacent building that was once actually a separate synagogue linked to the Mizrachi movement - is worth a look. With a minimalist design of creme colours, earthy textures and smooth lines, Megiddo creates a calm, quiet, pleasing environment for study, work or conversation that balances the history of the site with a simple, modern style and contemporary barista trends. Primarily a working bakery, several of their limited breakfast options (served until 14:00) feature fresh-baked bread or other baked goods, including two varieties of 'Dutch baby' - an oven-baked pancake similar to a large Yorkshire pudding (recommended). The variety of specialty coffee drinks is top-notch, and includes aeropress, matcha and espresso tonics, and everything is plated and cupped in exclusive ceramics designed by Xenia Kwiatkowska Studio. While the large room in the back is a bit sterile, the seasonal table out front, but well away from the street, is perfect if you can snag it. A welcome addition to Kazimierz, with excellent bread and coffee.
