Polish Design: The Top Local Design Shops in Kraków

08 Oct 2025

The profile of Polish design has risen considerably in recent years as both classical and contemporary Polish designs are being increasingly recognised for their creativity and quality. Here are some of our favourite Polish design boutiques and concept stores in Kraków.

Forum Designu is Kraków's largest space showcasing Polish home decor and fashion brands.

As traditional Polish folk motifs have found new life and vitality in contemporary contexts, so too has there been a reappraisal of and resurgence in communist design from the PRL era. Small Polish design firms are springing up across the country to spearhead trends in sustainable design, urban wear, minimalist decor and more. In fact, the phrase ‘Polish Design Only’ has almost become a proud rallying cry between local boutique concept stores and their mostly millennial colleagues who serve as clients, suppliers, inspirers and influencers.
PRL nostalgia is at the heart of hip Polish lifestyle brand Pan Tu Nie Stał.

Polish Design in Kraków

In Kraków, the west end of Kazimierz's Józefa Street has been dubbed 'Design Row' (by us at least); amongst the cafes, restaurants and bars on this characteristic street you'll find a high concentration of independent galleries, vintage boutiques and concept stores specialising in fashion, jewellery, art and home design. There are gems like these hidden across the city, however, so if you’re curious about Polish design, we've identified our favourite places to connect with it in the list below. For an even wider range of choices, visit the Polish Design category in our Shopping section.

Lastly, fans of Polish design should check out the Szołayski House in Kraków's Old Town. This branch of the National Museum (MNK) has changing temporary exhibits dedicated to Polish Design, plus two permanent exhibits: the Gallery of Polish Design of the 20th & 21st Century, and the Gallery of Polish Architecture of the 20th & 21st Centuries. Worth a visit!
