Kraków celebrates Pride Month early each year, with a citywide programme of over 100 LGBTQIA+ events under the banner of 'Queerowy Maj' (Queer May). Centred around queer-friendly venues like Slay Space, Zoo Club and Club Papugi, the daily events range from film screenings and exhibitions to workshops, talks, burlesque, drag shows and dance parties, with the biggest annual highlights being the Equality March (and its afterparties) and the Queer Ball in Teatr Stary. A window into Kraków's small but growing and very active queer scene, Queerwoy Maj is an opportunity to meet locals, engage in grassroots activism and discover the more colourful side of Kraków's nightlife.

This year's official slogan is 'Nie rzucim ziemi' (We will not abandon the land) - a reference to the patriotic verse of Maria Konopnicka, and the recent EU ruling regarding the transcription of same-sex marriages performed abroad. Events kick off before Majówka, and extend into June. The Equality March will take place May 23, and the Queer Ball on May 30.
