With hearty breakfasts, sumptuous sweets, affordable entrees and signature cocktails, there's something for everyone at this casual, market square eatery.
Located in a former bank building on one of the busiest corners in all of Poland, this high profile venture could easily have gone down one of these familiar paths: an impersonal, overpriced tourist trap cashing in on its prime Market Square location, or a Michelin-star-chasing spot for a select few. Instead, they've chosen a more refreshing, and welcoming route, with a casual restaurant that caters to many: families enjoying a day in the city, visitors who want to soak up the atmosphere without being price-gouged, and locals looking for a convenient meeting place for satisfying, affordable food or something sweet. Rynek 32's menu of standard European entrées (demi-glaced ribs, duck confit), soups, salads, pastas, burgers and pizzas is hardly revelatory, but appeals to all, and the food strikes a perfect balance between beautiful presentation and genuinely great taste. You can watch the chefs work in plain view in the modern interior, but only if you tear your eyes away from the array of delicious desserts - courtesy of Nakielny - on display behind the cafe counter. The wide range of coffees, smoothies and cocktails, plus ice cream and above-average breakfasts, make this truly the kind of place that satisfies all needs, and let's not forget the enviable outside seating. For the quality and setting, prices are surprisingly reasonable, making Rynek 32 a rare find on Kraków’s famous main square.
