The biggest highlights each year are undoubtedly the lighting of the city's Christmas tree, the Poznań Christmas Market and the Ice Sculpture Festival. This year (2023-24) - due to continuing renovation works on the Old Town Square which typically hosts these events - things will look a little different than in past years, with festivities split between Plac Wolności and the Poznań International Trade Fair complex. Look for holiday festivities in the following locations during the following dates:
Nov. 17 - Jan. 07, 2024 ▶ Plac Wolności
Nov. 18 - Dec. 22, 2023 ▶ Poznań International Trade Fair
The city's main Christmas tree and Christmas market will be on Plac Wolności in 2023-24, which includes the Mill Wheel carousel (which dates back to 1946), a concert stage (with a full programme of performances), fair rides for kids and maybe ven a Ferris wheel (either at Plac Wolności, the Trade Fair, or both). This year's Ice Sculpture Festival - arguably the festive season in Poznań's biggest highlight - will take place in Earth Hall at Poznań International Fair from December 8-10, where you'll also find a large Christmas market and full programme of holiday events.
