The unique presence of Lika Yanko (1928–2001) on the Bulgarian art scene was marked by one of her first public exhibitions, back in 1967.  In Lika Yanko’s works of art people can observe the intense and constant process of rationalising of the world through strokes and lines. In order to present this unique style of hers, The National Gallery is collaborating with curator Ivo Milev, who has directed an exposition with Lika's previosly unexhibited drawings, part of Vladimir Iliev's and Alexander Toshev's collection. The exhibition will include some of Lika's paintings from the early 70's to the mid 90's and with the help of multimedia technologies and specialised lightning the viewing experience will be enhanced. Highlights of the exhibition will be several canvases from the Lika Yanko's legacy to the National Gallery, made shortly before her death in 2001.
