Hotel Saski Kraków, Curio Collection by Hilton

  ul. Sławkowska 3 ,   Old Town          (+48) 12 421 42 22     more than a year ago
Saski has always exuded grandeur, despite being mired in Kraków's midrange accommodation bracket for decades before a takeover and subsequent makeover by Hilton (a good thing). In fact, this hotel dates back over 200 years to 1820 when it was one of the most exclusive sleeps in town, getting the signatures of such famous bedfellows as Ferenc Liszt, Johannes Brahms, Ignacy Paderewski, Stefan Żeromski and Artur Rubinstein in the registry, most of whom appeared on the stage of the hotel's famed performance hall. Unique and resplendent enough to earn entry into Hilton's 'Curio Collection' portfolio of 'remarkable one-of-a-kind' hotels (the only such in Poland so far), today the Saski is again one of the top accommodation in addresses in town, offering all the five-star amenities you'd expect, plus a sweet underground swimming pool and spa, stately conference rooms, and top-shelf fitness centre. The name of the new restaurant and bar - Regale - basically sums up the sumptuous interiors, which hearken back to the hotel's early days. The rooms are spacious enough for many of them to have two double beds, and several of the rooms can be connected for larger parties. The location is simply unbeatable, less than a block from the market square on recently refinished and pedestriansed ul. Sławkowska. Honestly, if you can afford it, you won't find many better options in Kraków for a memorable stay.
