After a refurb, this veteran crossover venue - essentially an enormous year-round terrace on the Planty - is back to being one of Kraków's most iconic spots for an early morning paper read, afternoon coffee and cigarette, after-work drink, casual first date, conversational English lesson, or people-watching piwo. In addition to good coffee and cakes, however, Bunkier actually offers some of the best budget eats in the area. Drop in for breakfast (shakshuka, eggs benedict, french toast...) until 13:00, after which tuck in to bagel sandwiches, snacks, salads, sharing platters or full-on mains like salmon fillet, or tagliatelle with prawns. There are even some simple budget options for kids, just note that the space is split into separate halves - one side of which allows smoking. With that in mind, Bunkier still feels more like a classic Cracovian cafe/bar, but one that has a surprisingly cheap, agreeable and convenient food offer in case you missed a meal. Note that the hours we list here are for the kitchen; the bar stays open until at least 01:00 each night (until 02:00 on Fri, Sat).
