Situated behind 'Halite' and close to the Synagogue and Banya Bashi Mosque, Zhenski Pazar (Ladies' Market) is a delight for some and a nightmare for others. Dirty, rambling and unregulated or lively, unpredictable and a bargain - it is all of this and more and whether or not you like it depends on your frame of mind.

The cheapest fruit and veg can be found here, as can nuts, dried fruit, even dairy produce and meat from some very dubious looking kiosks. The surrounding shops sell everything from doner kebabs and felafel to cheap footwear and authentic Chinese goods.

Take a walk down here as part of your tour of this part of town but do keep your bag tightly shut and be on the lookout for pickpockets.
