Rome is definitely an open-air museum. It is home to many museums and galleries, which house great works of art (stunning paintings, intricately painted frescoes, and significant ancient sculptures) and complement the artistic cultural heritage of the city. Wherever you turn, there’s some sort of two-thousand-year-old piazza/statue/fountain combo. From the Maxxi and Galleria Borghese to the National Museum of Rome and the Vatican Museums, there’re various collections that are worth a visit.
