Sprüngli has been around for 170 years and for locals it's synonymous with excellent confectionery and chocolate. Their café is the place to stop for a coffee when shopping on Bahnhofstrasse. Try to get a window seat on the first floor overlooking Paradeplatz, order a coffee and choose something sweet from the display cabinet. Try their famed luxemburgerli, small macaroons with a light and airy cream filling in different flavours or some of their many varieties of chocolates. Unusually for Switzerland you pay at the cash desk when leaving. The ground-floor shop sells all their confectionery by the piece or in gift boxes.
