This open-air bar, which brings some Mediterranean summer flair to the Binz district, started serving food and drink in 2017. And while this neighbourhood is off the beaten path for most of Zurich's visitors, Binz und Kunz is a good alternative that's worth the extra travel on hot days when central places on the water are teeming with people. The set-up with freight containers and strings of coloured lights is nothing new, but the Lebanese mezze platter we had was excellent, the beer cold and our seats on the terrace on top of the containers, better than average. Swiss staples like Bratwurst and Cervelat sausages can also be enjoyed by traditionalists. What more could you ask for on a balmy summer night?
