Holding lightning to symbolise electricity, the statue of Promotheus which overlooks the Vidraru Dam and lake was created in 1965 by the sculptor Constantin Popovici. You can climb up to the statue via a staircase at the side of the Transfagarasan Highway. There are some amazing views over the dam and over the Vidraru lake.
