Despite the abundance of big slabs of pork and tender beef, being a vegetarian in the Czech Republic is refreshingly simple. Olomouc has plenty of meat-free eateries, from cute bistros to large scale restaurants, via self-service spots, cafes and taverns. Some of the best restaurants in town are for herbivores, with dishes so flavoursome that carnivores would be well advised to ditch the preconceptions and give them a go.
