Musée Masséna
The Massena Museum is the art museum in Nice located in a Villa that sits on Promenade des Anglais and boasts of a wide collection of art. Built by Hans-Georg Tersling, a Danish architect, Massena Museum was built with inspiration from infused international designs, especially Italian neoclassical style. Painters from the nineteenth century are usually present at the museum meeting visitors, these include Joseph Fricero, Antoine Trachel, and Alexis Mossa. Musée d'Art Moderne et d'Art Contemporain stands for Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art and is located in the centre of Nice. The museum exhibits artworks deriving from the post-war era, both regional and international. Yves Klein is one of a few artists honoured with a special permanent display of their works. He invented the anthropometries, blue monochromes, and the fire paintings. Another artist with permanent exhibits here is Niki de Saint Phalle, she created shooting paintings. Most exhibitions at the museum are temporary and rotate local and international artists on display. When visitors go to the rooftop of the museum, they are met with a spectacular view of Nice.Musée Matisse
Matisse Museum stands beautifully and colourfully in Avenue des Arenes de Cimiez. Found at the museum is work that reflects the life of Matisse the artist, his influences and achievements as an artist. Some visitors hint that this museum is for radical fans of Matisse as most things displayed are sketches that he drafted when creating his famous work, as well as sculptures, tiles, stained glass, and other pieces that showed his relationship with the city of Nice. A film of Matisse's life and works is also played at the museum. In addition to admiring the colourful museum building and the work on display, visitors also appreciate the beautiful views of Nice, the mountains and water. Musée des Beaux Arts, which means Museum of Fine Arts, is located on Avenue des Baumettes, in a former dwelling place of a Ukranian princess. The museum was opened in 1928 and artwork that is exhibited here date back to the 16th century. The works of Ziem, Monet, and Rodin, are among the collections that are highlighted at the museum. The themes and trends of the exhibitions are a few and different, the more obvious ones being romantic and impression based. Over the years, the museum has increased its number of art pieces displayed at the museum, all thanks to the kind donations of well-wishers and art collectors.
