Served by Lufthansa, Air France, British Airways, Hapag-Lloyd, Turkish Airlines and others, Hanover airport (HAJ) brings Hanover and surroundings to the world. It is located eleven kilometres northwest of the city centre in Lagenhagen.
To get to the centre, follow the signs to the S-Bahn train line. Take line S5 (the only one) to the Hauptbahnhof in the centre of town. Travel time from the airport to the Hauptbahnhof is 12 minutes.
You'll need a single ticket costing €2,60 or an EinzelTagesTicket which is valid all day and costs €4.80; groups of 3-5 people can best get the TagesGruppenTicket costing €9.60 (these prices are valid for the 2-zone version which includes the airport). Currency exchange is available at the Sparkasse Bank and at ATMs in terminals A and C.
