A glacial lake is pretty much what it says it is, namely a stretch of water of any size that was formed thousands of years ago by the wearing away of the land by a glacier. The predominantly mountainous Polok region boats scores of them, and it’s worth going to explore a few if only for their incongruous appearance high up on the mountains.
