Parking in the city

Parking in the city
Parking regulations are strictly enforced in Dublin City so beware or you could be clamped or towed. In some suburbs Parking Tickets and fines are given out in place of clamping.

ON STREET PARKING
Parking meters operate a Pay and Display system. Tickets should be purchased in advanced and  displayed on your car windscreen to avoid clamping or a fine. Retain the ticket counterfoil as a reminder of its expiry time. The cost of parking depends on the parking zone you are in, although the average cost in the city centre is €2.90/hr, with a max of 3hrs parking in most locations. Be sure to have plenty of € to hand as machines only accept cash.

CAR PARKS

There are many multi-storey car parks in the city centre, and most of these offer a discount on overnight parking. When driving through the city you will see digital signs - updated every minute - telling you how many spaces are free in each multi-storey. Only a few car parks accept Mastercard and Eurocard.
