The bumpy ride sure is worth it (plenty of parking!), and to this day Ciągoty i Tęsknoty remains one of the undisputed highlights of culinary Łódź. While the surrounding area looks torn and frayed, the interiors here are pleasingly ethereal, with pastel colours and artsy prints generating the atmosphere of a country cottage. But there’s more to this place than a Hansel and Gretel look, and the food wins top ratings every time. Kick off with plums wrapped in bacon, before rounding off with the chicken in lemon sauce – nothing complicated, but excellence guaranteed.
