Lothus - Hotels in Wroclaw

Previous visitors to Wrocław may remember what once stood here; the shabby Saigon hotel complete with a hairdresser staffed by women who would do more than just cut hair. The decorators have been in and things have been cleaned up and improved, but the general style remains. Enter through a pagoda-style entrance to find a lobby with a gurgling fountain and dragons looking on. A knackered lift then creaks its way to bland rooms featuring lumpy beds, coffee stained floors and the occasional flooded bathroom. Downstairs you'll find the restaurant of the same name which likewise hasn't changed much over the decades.

I stayed here in May 2008. The hotel is comfortable but the rooms are very basic. The breakfast is very good. However, the restaurant is very ordinary for the price and not recommended. The hotel is expensive by comparison with UK in my experience but is in the city centre. If you want to stay in the centre of the city all the hotels seem to be expensive.Major concern from staying here is charges on the room account. I was charged for meals not taken and the hotel would not discuss the issue, even though they could not produce any signed bills. If they are unwilling to discuss this type of dispute then it doesn’t fair well on other problems. Beware and do not use a credit card, always pay cash.
