In essence, this is a place that lives up to its name. Meaning warmth in Russian, Teplo is a winner. Things are done here subtly and well. The understated homely decor, the thoroughly intelligent menu, the delightful service (yes the waitresses smile!) all make coming here similar to dropping by your best friend’s house and having a bite to eat in their lounge room or on their patio or in their kitchen full of freshly baked pies and breads. Indeed wherever you end up eating, you’ll linger, eat, drink and put off leaving.

Very nice staff a great menu with a mix of Russian and international choices and very busy! Make sure to call with a reservation- all 5 rooms were packed with good reason!

Just back from st.pb. we ve had a splendid time. Really bad weather. Drizzel but smooth we walked every day(5) about 12 km. Hermitage of course(the interior is as interesting as the paintings. We were astonished about the conditions the paintings are held. In the sun(we didn t see)near the heating. )but see it.Then after a day of culture. The bar and the beer.(we are wine lovers but wine is unfortunately very expensive(25euro, and up a bottle in the restaurants)So now we come at TEPLO.We ve had dinner for 4!!! times. I am cooking the stars from heaven at home. It s my passion. But.... You can eat perfect for 50 euro without wine.The atmosphere is really fine and cozy. Do it and reservate!!.Wolter van den Ham
