Bonaire's first gold course, the ironically named Piedra So, which means 'Just Stones' in the local language, was completed in 2004. Far removed from the links of the US or Scotland, this course originally consisted of a few car tyres and rocks and a picnic table that served as a clubhouse. A decade later, not much has changed and this 18-hole eco-friendly golf course still lacks a single blade of grass on its fairways. Here you'll find only red sand and thorny cactuses and some unpredictable challenges such as grazing donkeys, goats and fierce trade winds. Every first Sunday of the month a 9-hole tournament is held at 09:00.
