You really have to want to find this place. Thankfully, we did, but our thirst for new brews is, of course, the stuff of legends. Just look for the giant windmill about a 20-minute walk northwest of the Artis Zoo along the Hoogte Kadijk to find this microbrewery offering at least eight unique beers including something akin to a pilsner as well as the spicy (their word) Columbus, which has an alcohol content of 9%. The tasting room was renovated in 2015 and is much classier than it used to be, but loads of people still choose to imbibe at the picnic tables outside. Beers are remarkably cheap by local standards, but only snacks are available so you might want to pace yourself. Take tram No.10 toward Azartplein from Leidseplein, get off at the Hoogte Kadijk stop and turn right.
