Curacao Winery

  Landhuis Hat, F. Rooseveltweg, Curacao      (+599) 97 88 19 72     more than a year ago
Thousands of litres of wine are consumed each day on Curacao, but until now all wine had to be imported from abroad. Luckily, a Dutch couple had the courage to start their own winery on the island near the international airport. Previously their family had created the most successful winery in the Netherlands and with this experience to hand they began yet another great adventure. 25 hectares is now at the disposal of the ‘Flying Winemakers’ who have implemented similar projects in other countries with great success. The harvesting of the first eight varieties of grapes is planned for the second quarter of 2016, but until then you'll be amazed by the full bodied taste of Dutch wines. A tour of the grounds takes you right through the vineyards and afterwards you can relax at the outdoor terrace of the adjoining Landhuis Hato that is also home to a small B&B. Drop by for its Friday happy hour.
