Just a 15-minute Bus ride from the centre, the town of Fiesole, an important centre in Etruscan times and one of our most cherished spots to visit when in Florence, is a charming hilltop settlement perfectly nestled between town and country. Fiesole’s Archaeological Area is an open-air museum with an ancient theatre, temples and baths. If you’re after a more exclusive outdoor experience, the garden of the Villa Medici can be booked by appointment. The 15th century villa is one of the most stunning in all of Tuscany and indeed the prototype for the Renaissance villa.
