Jane Austen and Bath are forever linked, although it is still unclear just what the iconic English novelist thought of her adopted home. She didn’t write much while she was there, which was either an indication of frustration or a glimpse into what was an extremely busy social life. Whatever the truth, Bath remains a must-visit stop on the long list of Austen-related sights in England. The Jane Austen Centre is a veritable nirvana for fans of the writer, a window into the life she spent in the city and a real treasure trove for anyone interested in one of the country’s great creatives. You can even dress up in the garb of the times, which will almost certainly make for some excellent photographic opportunities. Adult tickets cost £10.80, with kids alternatives priced at £5.50.
