The largest of Bosnia’s national parks, Una National Park is one of the most impressive collections of majestic nature in this most blessed part of the world. The park covers 198square kilometres of land on Bosnia’s border with Croatia, a mass of verdant forests and quite magnificent waterways that is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna, making this one of the most biodiverse areas in the region. But it is those aforementioned waterways that really take the breath away, including arguably the two finest waterfall networks in the country. Štrbački buk makes for the perfect centrepiece, while Martin Brod is the largest complex of falls in the park and a stunning main event. Throw in plenty of activities, fortresses, monasteries and more, and you’ve got yourself one very special piece of real estate.
