You’ll see plenty of vessels along Bristol’s Harbourside but few are as aesthetically intriguing as The Matthew. The caravel is a replica of the very boat that took John Cabot from these shores all the way to North America way back in 1497, although it might be best to avoid thinking of such a treacherous journey while exploring this small boat. Visiting the boat is free and therefore mandatory — this is the most popular Tudor ship there ever was.
