Natural History Museum

  VIII. Ludovika tér 6.      (+36-1) 210 1085     more than a year ago
More fun than a herd of wild animals. As a matter of fact, much of this kid-friendly museum consists of wild animals, duly stuffed and mounted: aardvarks, polar bears, orangutans. There's even a life-size reconstruction of a woolly mammoth. Among the exhibits: the wildlife of the Carpathian Basin, fluorescent minerals, and the reconstructed faces of Hungarians who lived a thousand years ago. Inscriptions are in English as well as Hungarian. Look for the human skeleton sitting pensively on a rock - probably a parent who's still waiting for her kids to finish.
