Hidden deep within Buda hills woodland beside the Budakeszi Wildlife Park, the Vadaspark Étterem has several large eating halls which are convincingly presented as a hunter’s retreat, with sheepskins thrown across its long wooden benches, a huge ceramic oven dominating one end of the main room, and various archaic tools of the trade hanging from the walls. Here you can enjoy excellent traditional Hungarian dishes, the ingredients of which you may have met in the wildlife park next door, and there’s live folk music every evening from 6pm. Take bus No.22 from Moszkva tér or a taxi.
