Opened in October 1990 to a crowd of 45,000 expectant shoppers, this is the fastest growing urban centre in Ireland, with 11 restaurants, multiplex cinema and over 160 stores spread across three floors. Just 13km south-west of the city centre, and the last stop on the Red Luas Line, The Square's major department stores include Dunnes, Debenhams and Heatons. Plans are afoot to exensively develop the site to twice its current size.
