Nothing like Stephen King’s terrifying novel, the Long Walk at Galway Bay is one of those lazy, romantic strolls in fresh air significant for northern sea cities. Prepare your camera, don’t bother with your hair - it’s Ireland, it’ll be windy anywhere and besides, you look grand. Screeching seagulls flying around colorful houses and old boats tied up at the docks are a sight. When walking from the Spanish Arch south towards the docks, turn right to gaze at the significant Erlington Canal Sea Lock that was built to connect the river Corrib to the sea in order to facilitate goods transport and provide water to local mills.
