Freiluftkino Friedrichshain
Located in the middle of the Volkspark Friedrichhain, this is one of the best-loved open air cinemas in Berlin. 1500 seats on comfortable benches with backrests, an additional 300 seats at tables and lush lawns on which you can spread out with your stroller, blankets and picnic basket. If not announced otherwise, all films are shown in German dubbed version. Exceptions are here.
Freiluftkino Hasenheide
A changing programme of Art House and cult films as well as selected mainstream movies awaits you every day throughout the summer at the Freiluftkino Hasenheide. Spend the warm, starry nights under skies of Neukölln, and note that films are shown in all weathers! The general is that all movies shown in their original versions with German subtitles, and the full program is available on the website here:
Freiluftkino Kreuzberg
It is easy to forget that open-air cinemas are somewhat new in Berlin, and Freiluftkino Kreuzberg was way ahead of the curve when it opened back in 1994. The variety of films on show is second to none, with a schedule that changes daily and touches every corner of the cinematic globe. Foreign films are shown in original form with German subtitles, and German films get the English subtitle treatment. The program is here:
Freiluftkino Insel in the Cassiopeia
The Freiluftkino INSEL is located in the charming courtyard of the Cassiopeia Club on the RAW Area corner Simon Dach Strasse in Friedrichshain. Most films are shown in the original language with German subtitles (they are not dubbed) and guests can even use free blankets and umbrellas. Their program is here:
Filmrauschpalast
Kultur Fabrik Moabit is already a titan on the cultural front. This once-upon-a-time factory now serves as a concert hall, music venue, art house theatre, and more. In the summer it hosts free and open-air movies in its courtyard on Fridays and Saturdays at 10pm. Typically in German, check their site or newsletter for the summer program.
Naturtheater Friedrichshagen
Together with the Kino Union, films are played here every day, no matter what the weather is like. The theater has rising rows of seats under deciduous trees and rustic charm. Films in German language only – and here is their program.
Freilichtbühne Weißensee
Great location right at the shores of the Lake Weißensee - all movies in German though - but with a great kids-programm on weekends. - the program here -
