Burleigh Heads Beach sits between Surfers Paradise to the north and Coolangatta to the south, and is definitely worth a stop if you’re travelling between those two locations. Justly famed for its blue waters and clean, golden sands, fully patrolled and suitable for swimmers and paddlers alike, it’s the surf breaks that have really put this spot on the map. While still relatively quiet for the Gold Coast there’s still plenty to see, eat, drink and do when you get off the beach. We like to go to the headland, known as “The Point,” to watch the surfers and enjoy a cold beer and/or barbecue, while others prefer to take a walk in the nearby national park.
