Kaunas

Aleksotas Jewish Cemetery

  H. ir O. Minkovskių     more than a year ago
The city's last remaining working Jewish cemetery holds the remains of over 1,000 souls and is also the final resting place of many of the city's Litvaks who were originally buried in the small cemetery inside the Kovno Ghetto. Note the small photographs on many of the graves, a tradition borrowed from the region's Catholics. Take bus Nº22 from the city centre and get off at the Elevatorius stop. Find it hidden away behind a factory and on the other side of a railway line.

my great grandfather Louis Warner came from Kaunas. I have no idea what his parents names were. How do I find out?
