Not unlike the scores of other bars dedicated to Jaroslav Hašek’s classic character the Good Soldier Švejk that dot the Bohemian countryside, this one has a cosy atmosphere of solid oak tables and exposed brick walls, not to mention its most important feature – great beer. Užavas, Bauskas and Staropramen are on draught, cheap Baltic-Czech cuisine is on the menu and the pretty wait staff refuse to smile, just like in Prague! Live accordion music at the weekend.
Excellent hearty food. Do not miss the soups! Outstanding! I always make a point of going here while in Riga.
