Venues in Riga

Whether its medieval architecture and cobble stone streets you're after or extravagant Art Nouveau buildings and manicured 19th-century parks, Sightseeing in Riga offers plenty of visual stimulation for all tastes. Explore what's left of the city's Soviet legacy or take a tour of Riga Cathedral (Rīgas Doms), the largest house of worship in the Baltics. However, no trip to Riga would be complete without taking a lift to the top of St. Peter’s Church, which has been rebuilt a few times since it was erected in 1209, and a walk through the former zeppelin hangars of the Riga Central Market is also a must to say that you’ve been in the Latvian capital. Farther afield you’ll also find some genuine gems including the Latvian Ethnographic Museum where you can see what life used to be like in rural Latvia as well as more modern museums dedicated to vintage cars and that most Latvian of beverages – beer.
