A veritable temple of music, this church dating back to early medieval times is where Johann Sebastian Bach served as choirmaster from 1723 to 1750, Mozart played the organ, Wagner was baptized, and where the St. Thomas Boys Choir has been performing for some 800 years. Now mainly late-Gothic in appearance, the building underwent numerous complete overhauls. Apart from mass, concerts with music and singing are held regularly throughout the week, especially in summer.
