Krochsiedlung

Landsberger-Straße/Max-Liebermann-Straße     more than a year ago
Bauhaus. The mere utterance of the name conjures up images of austere boxes with windows and doors that began springing up in the 1930s and ‘40s. Hans Kroch financed the construction of 1,018 such flats in Gohlis, completed only 46 weeks later in 1930. Central heating, running water and bathrooms made it the most modern residential area in Leipzig.
