In 2016 Ljubljana will take on the title of the Green Capital of Europe, so it goes without saying that the socially responsible magnifying glass is well and truly focused on our lovely little capital. The Slovene capital passes all the tests however, with a vibrant community of forward thinking artists and entrepreneurs working hard to improve the quality of life for some of society’s most vulnerable groups, as well as keeping a close eye on our environment.

Ljubljana’s small size is definitely a blessing in this regard, with close proximity making co-operation easy. So whether it is an abundance of recycled goods, fair trade coffee or employment opportunities for the often-overlooked, Ljubljana is full of exciting experiences combined with ethical responsibility.
