Who doesn't love a good old shopping expedition? We're pretty spoiled when it comes to places to spend our hard earned cash in Ljubljana, so where's your favourite place to shop 'til you drop? Here's this year's nominees:
Aleja
The most modern shopping centre in Slovenia opened its doors in May 2020. Aleja offers not only 80 stores covering an assortment of brands, but also boasts the opportunity for a little recreation on running tracks and a sports fields located on the green roof, as well as the city's coolest food court, complete with an outdoor terrace. Boasting over 120 stores of all shapes and sizes, Citypark is Slovenia's largest shopping centre, and the best place to find pretty much whatever you need while in Ljubljana. Besides the massive variety of stores - such as Primark, Reserved, Humanic, Hervis, H&M and an Interspar hypermarket - there is a terrific choice of places to eat. Ljubljana's shopping centre Supernova is located on the outskirts of the city in Rudnik, and like is like the name suggests - spread out over a gigantic piece of land. This means it offers plenty of space to leave your car while you go enjoy spending your hard-earned cash as well as space for huge shops which hold everything from shoes to furniture. This giant French retailer has what is most likely the largest selection of spirits in Ljubljana, and an equally impressive selection of beer and wine (from Slovenia, France and elsewhere, including smaller vineyards). Prices seem to be competitive with or lower than at other large department stores, yet we still manage to spend a large percent of our monthly paycheck here. Read more...
