The former pastures of Vrith village at Razëm, 40km from Shkodra, are surrounded by old beech and pine forests plus a dozen caves at 1100 metres above sea level. Originally used for Shkodra citizens' summer homes until a workers' holiday camp was started in the 1950s, Razëm has developed into a modest highland resort since the 1990s. Besides relaxing in the fresh air, activities include hikes in the wonderful karst landscape at Fushë të Zezë or black fields 7km further up the road or 1724-m high Veleçik mountain to the west, with its ancient fir trees. Roads are kept free of snow here, making it a good alpine winter option too.
