One of Poznań's most important festivals since its inception back in 1991, Malta Festival is a multidisciplinary event that turns the entire city into a stage for one week each summer. Creating a dialogue between art, culture and ideas, the festival's programme includes dozens of events - from intimate theatre and dance performances to big-time concerts to engaging workshops and literary meetings - taking place in dozens of diverse venues all over town, including CK Zamek, Stary Browar and MTP. What's more, many of the events are absolutely free!

With a different unifying theme each year, Malta Festival essentially endeavours to bring the most intriguing cultural phenomena from around the world to Poznań, be it experimental theatre, art, music, opera, literature, dance - you name it. Over the past decades Radiohead, Damon Albarn, Jane’s Addiction, Beirut, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Devendra Banhart, ANOHNI & the Johnsons, actors Tim Robbins and Tilda Swinton, and writer Orhan Pamuk have all contributed to its legacy. The programme is so rich, that festival has its own mobile application to help you keep track of everything happening across town.
