Host Michele offers an unusual dining experience at Birchegg. With only one menu available, you don't even have to bother choosing. We were served a welcome drink right away, followed by an antipasti platter. In keeping with its authentic Italian theme, pasta, in this case delicious tortellini with different sauces, was the next course to arrive at our table, but we were given a choice between steak or liver as a main. The meal finished with ice cream topped with fruit for dessert. Everything is included in the price here, even wine, espresso and a brandy in an absurdly huge glass that you can share with your friends. This remarkable experience with traditional, solid food and a friendly, if a little quirky, host can all be had for roughly 70Sfr. Recommended.
