This legendary Sunday flea market should go on any list of must-dos in Kraków, particularly when the weather is nice. There is an outdoor market at 'Hala Targowa' (as it's locally called) every day, but on Sundays it becomes a sprawling full-blown flea market of Old World antiques, Catholic icons, village detritus, vinyl records, VHS cassettes, war memorabilia, mismatched shoes, stolen bikes, brass knobs, used brassieres, and pretty much anything you can dream of at negotiable prices. Not only respectable merchants, but seemingly every trash-picking tramp in town sets up camp here on Sunday morning, with the action starting shortly after dawn and winding down by about 15:00.
