Dwie Dlonie translate as “Two Hands” in Polish, and it’s a fitting name for a pizzeria/pub where 80 percent of the staff is deaf. Opened in 2002, Dwie Dlonie uses deaf pizza deliverers, bartenders and waiters, but easily accommodates those who only use their hands for eating pizza (the hearing staff are all fluent in sign language). The main draw here is the pizza – a sign made with your thumbs and index fingers spread out in a circular shape in front of you – and there’s over 80 combinations to choose from. Those who stray from the normal sausage and cheese will be rewarded, and The Bee – chicken baked in honey, garlic, ground ginger and cheese – is just strange enough to be delicious. Also at ul. Kusocińskiego 76 (F-4) and ul. Łagiewnicka 118b (G-2).
