Sopot Nightlife

In Your Pocket

By Night

Sopot is the centre of Tri-city and summer Poland’s nightlife. While there have been improvements in the options in neighbouring cities, the options here have gone through the roof. This is one huge party zone particularly at the weekends and most of the action is centred around the main drag, Monte Cassino. Many clubs will apply a cover charge particularly at weekends and you can expect to pay 10-30zł to get into the better ones.

Sopot has a reputation, amongst others, as being the seaside capital for the country’s artist crows and though we're no great fans, there is nowhere more 'Sopot' than Spatif. Drink with the local beatniks and artistes in Lalala and Czarna Wolga or head to one of the plethora of Polish snacks and shots bars to knock back shots of vodka for a handful of Euros.

The art to a night in Sopot is pacing it. The alcohol is strong and the opening hours are long. If its sport you’re after try Na Drugą Nóżkę in the Crooked house which along with carrying the main Polish sports channels also has 4zł beer. For something a little bit more civilised try Tapas De Rucola who are also big sports fans.

For a romantic nightcap on Monte Cassino try the Blue Poodle, aka Błękitny Pudel, an atmospheric, antiquarian bar which comes into its element as evening draws in or for a glass of wine, head to Cyrano et Roxane, a rail-side cottage overseen by a Frenchman. If it's cocktails you're after you won't find a more impressive choice that at Coctail Bar Max.

Through the years the Sofitel Grand has hosted names as diverse as Omar Sharif and Marlene Dietrich. Follow in their footsteps by taking cocktails in the hotel bar, Le Bar with gardens leading to the nearby beach.

All night

Sopot is the capital of the all-nighter. Greet dawn on the beach by drinking in Atelier or mix with the fashionista in Unique. Step the city’s signature building, the Crooked House, and take your pick from the selection of late night bars and clubs found upstairs there. Our tip though is Wtedy, which is a bit more 'Sopot' and a lot less bling.
