This historical museum is housed in one of the few remaining buildings (the customs' house and pub) in the Podskalí neighbourhood (meaning ‘below the rocks’), which was first mentioned in 1199. The area’s livelihood came primarily from floating timber down the river: see their ingeniously long and flexible rafts. Although small and specialist, the exhibits capture the spirit of the river and the people with some spectacular images. Trams 3, 7, 16, 17, 21 Výtoň. Admission 30Kč. Free on the first Thursday of each month.
