This is that rarest and most welcome of things - a private cultural centre. Set up by two women and the first of its kind in Sopot, it should be applauded and deserves all our support. At the beginning the plans for the MCKA foundation was to start an open-air, chamber institution, but they were offered a share in a city building just by the beach and this is their home. The aim is to create a genuinely multi-disciplinary arts institution which will attract the widest possible audience. Beside concerts and performances the centre plans workshops in all fields of the arts.
